Who Is Leading The Race To Develop 5G?



Huawei Technologies, the Chinese tech company, has been aggressively pursuing 5G dominance, adding the most technical contributions to the 5G standard at international conferences where what 5G is and how it will be implemented is outlined. The company has added more than 11,000 technical contributions to the 5G standard. Swedish telecoms company, Ericsson, has added the second most to the standard, contributing over 10,000 technical changes. Read more.

5G's peak and regular use download speeds dwarf existing 4G/LTE specs. The next generation of cell service will also sport a 10x's higher maximum bandwidth when compared to 4G/LTE networks. Electric Mobility: Norway Races Ahead



Electric vehicles took center stage at this year’s Geneva Motor Show which ends on Sunday. Facing tougher emissions standards in Europe, countless manufacturers showed off their latest vision of a battery-powered future, with both concept cars and market-ready models featuring heavily. Our first chart shows which countries are furthest in the adoption of electric cars while our second offering looks at battery prices for EVs.


Despite robust growth and record levels of electric vehicle sales in most of the largest automobile markets, combustion engines still dominate passenger car sales around the world. The share of plug-in electric vehicles in total passenger car and light vehicle sales/registrations was below five percent in all but four markets in 2018, with Norway the most notable exception at 49 percent. Read more.

International Women’s Day in the Tech World



International Women’s Day is commemorated every year on March 8 to raise awareness for women’s rights, equality, safety and justice. This year, the United Nations celebrates International Women’s Day under the official theme #BalanceforBetter, advocating a more gender-balanced world.
